4th of July in Columbia, SC

Concert and Fireworks Show at Icehouse Amphitheater in Lexington, SC

June 30, 2023 – 7 pm 
Location: 107 W Main Street Lexington, SC 29072
Cost: Free
Details: At this event, you can hear the 246th Army Band play followed by a firework show! There will be food vendors and adult and kid-friendly beverages available for purchase. You can view the firework show at the Icehouse Amphitheater or from farther away at Lexington Square Park, Lexington Veterans Monument, or from the restaurants on Main Street. The band will begin at 7 pm with a firework show beginning shortly after.

Boat Parade on Lake Murray

July 1, 2023– Begins at 12:00 pm, but not visible from the dam/land until after 12:30 pm
Location: Lake Murray Dam 
Cost: Free
Details: The 35th annual 4th of July boat celebration kicks off at noon with the parade leaving from Bomb Island. The boats will be visible from the Lake Murray Dam area around 1 pm. The boat parade is open to the public and is a free event! However, keep in mind that you might have to pay to park your car in the lots around the dam. 

Interested in joining in on the parade? To enter your own boat, you must register by calling the Lake Murray County Visitor Center at 803.781.5940. It is free to participate and registration is open. Cash prizes for 1st-4th place winners! 

Fireworks Show and More at Fort Jackson

July 1, 2023- gates open at 4 pm
Location: Hilton Field at Fort Jackson – all people over 16 must have a government-issued ID to enter
Cost: Free and open to the public
Details: Fort Jackson will once again welcome the public to celebrate Independence Day! Live music by Brooks Herring and Blanco Brown, firework show, kids zone with carnival rides, and food and beverage available for purchase.

Lake Murray Fireworks

July 1, 2023– 9:15 pm – 9:30 pm 
Location: Dreher Island State Park or Spence Island
Cost: Free with entry into the state park 
Details: This is the largest fireworks show on Lake Murray and can be best viewed from either Dreher Island State Park or Spence Island! Normal fees for parking/entry at the viewing places will apply. The firework show is synchronized to patriotic music! In the event of bad weather, the firework show will be held on July 2, 2023.

Born in the USA 4 Mile Run 

July 4, 2023 – main race begins at 7 am
Location: 4801 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206 
Cost: Varies based upon when registration is completed
Details: Kick off your Independence Day morning with a fun run! With three different options: 4-mile race, 4-mile 2-person relay, or the Firecracker Youth Run, you can make it a family affair! There will be an award for the best 4th of July costume about 15 minutes before the races begin and refreshments throughout the course and at the finish line. Each participant for the Firecracker Youth Run will receive a medal and there will also be awards for the top finishers of the 4-mile run and relay races.

Fireworks with the Phil @ Segra Park

July 4, 2023- Gates open at 6:30 pm, Concert begins at 8 pm, Fireworks at 9:15 pm
Location: Segra Park
Cost: Purchase tickets online, $8 – $10
Details: Family-friendly event with patriotic music with the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra to end with a fireworks display.

Lexington Blowfish Baseball Game and Fireworks Show 

July 4, 2023– 7:05 pm 
Location: 474 Ball Park Rd., Lexington, SC 29072
Cost: $6.50 – $9.50/ticket depending on seat 
Details: The Blowfish are a summer collegiate baseball team made up of players from colleges such as Clemson, Winthrop, and College of Charleston, just to name a few. On July 4th they will play the Glowfish in what is sure to be a night full of family fun and celebration! A firework display will be held at the end of the game. 

Lexington County Peach Festival and Firework Display 

July 4, 2023– 8 am – 10 pm 
Location: Gilbert Community Park, 110 Rikard Circle, Gilbert, SC 29054
Cost: Free 
Details: This year marks the 63rd annual Lexington Peach Festival and will provide fun events and festivities all day long! The festival will kick off at 8 am with a car show, followed by a parade at 9:30 am, and end the day with a firework display around 10 pm. Throughout the day you can enjoy live music and entertainment, tractor show, children’s rides, an art exhibit, and more!

9 pm: Fireworks
