Denver Downs Farm, a century-old farm in Anderson, SC known for its family-friendly entertainment, agri-tourism, and huge corn maze, is hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 7 and 8, 2023 from 10 am – 3 pm. The farm will also be open after Easter (April 10-15) from Monday – Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm for kids to get out their energy outdoors with more than 20 barnyard activities like a zip lines, jumping pillows, cow train, slides, and baby animal interactions. The New Giant Mountain Slide will be open!
“Our annual Easter egg hunt is a tradition for so many families and we are so honored to be a part of that tradition as well as welcoming new families to the farm as they make memories together,” said Catherine Garrison, co-owner and special events planner at Denver Downs. “And we are thrilled to welcome families to our farm all week to enjoy our outdoor activities and take advantage of time off from school.”
The egg hunt takes place on the sprawling 140-acre field so kids have plenty of space to find eggs. Egg hunts are at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm. Kids under two-years-old can hunt anytime in a designated area. Children will hunt eggs at designated times- but are welcome to play at the farm for all open hours. The famous Candy Cannon will be fired after each egg hunt. Families are welcome to make a day out of the visit to the farm and enjoy baby chicks and lambs, the jumping pillow, cow train, and giant “bouncy eggs”. Tickets are $14.95 in advance and may be purchased at the gate if available for $15. A special hot dog lunch will be available for $7. Funnel Cakes, Shaved Ice and a Cookie Decorating Station will be available.
Special Needs children and families will have designated Egg Hunts on Friday at Saturday (April 7 & 8) at 9:30 am (may arrive at 9:00 am).
At the Egg Hunts, Children will also be able to plant a flower seed and make a craft to take home. Of course the Easter Bunny and Easter Duck will be appearing at the farm for photos!
“It’s always a pleasure to see kids running around on the farm just like my family used to do as kids ourselves,” said Garrison. “Sharing our family’s love of the outdoors, farming, history, and the holidays is such a joy and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our farm for springtime fun!”
Tickets to the farm during Spring Break include seeing farm animals, including all the babies, and barnyard activities such as the jumping pillow, gaga pit, giant slide, zipline, little slides, ballzone, farmin’ foosball, Little Farmer Corral, Cow Train, and Giant tricycles. Picnics are welcome during Spring Break. Gem mining will also be open. Tickets are $14.95 online and $15 at the gate.
