Knee-high Naturalists

Knee-high Naturalists is an environmental education program for our tiniest naturalists, ages 2-4. Each session will include activities that will engage you and your child, and may include book readings, fine/gross motor skill development, sign language, songs, and more!

TOPICS

• September 8 and 10
  • A is for Ants…and other insects! – Did you know that there are more insects than humans on Earth? Ants and other insects are all around us, let’s learn about them together.
• October 6 and 8
  • B is for Birds – This class is for the birds, or about the birds! We will learn all about what makes a bird, a bird!
• November 3 and 5
  • C is for Colorful – Fall is when leaves are showing us their true colors. Let’s explore the colors of nature!
• December 1 and 3
  • D is for Deer – The white tail deer is our state mammal. This month’s let’s celebrate them and our other state symbols!

You will be able to choose from a Thursday or Saturday session for each program. REGISTRATION CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT THE TUESDAY BEFORE CLASS. This allows us time to plan. If you miss the deadline, you may email [email protected] to determine if there is still space for your child.

WHO: 2-4 year olds with a parent or guardian

COST: 1st child is $10 (includes 1 parent), additional children or parents are $8 each.

WHERE

Conestee Nature Preserve in Greenville, SC. Exact trailhead will be emailed the week of the event. Please add [email protected] to your contact list so that the event emails do not get lost in your spam folder.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a water bottle. Sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before class if needed.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: This event will take place entirely outside in open air, with distancing possible in most situations. Please do not attend the event if you are feeling ill. In the event of such cancellations, we are happy to issue a refund.

CANCELLATIONS: We will cancel if we have less than 6 participants, so encourage your friends to sign up with you! Cancellations by participants must be made 1 week prior to the event for a full refund. If the event is cancelled by CNP or due to COVID related concerns, full refunds will be issued.
