STEM Days at Roper Mountain Science Center

Visit Roper Mountain’s FINAL STEM Days of Summer event on Friday, July 29, with featured partners Duke Energy Nuclear Education, GE Power, Lockheed Martin, and ZF Transmission.

This special event happens during Summer Adventure and provides more hands-on, interactive demonstrations and activities thanks to collaborations with business leaders in the Upstate.

Duke Energy (10 a.m. -1 p.m.) will guide you through fun circuit building using conductive play dough!Join GE Engineers and staff (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) as they challenge you to get blown away with their wind powered car design challenger.

Lockheed Martin (10 a.m.- 1 p.m.) will educate you about careers in aviation and their products. Come learn about flight and create and test fly your own F-16 paper airplanes.

ZF Transmission (1 – 4 p.m.) will help you test how much energy you can generate to power a slot car as you race your friends or family. Explore why we use LED lights, and see a full size car transmission in action. FeRDi the humanoid robot will also be on hand to engage with you.
