Wise people have said “collaboration is far more powerful than competition.” In January of 2019, two of the oldest private, Christian schools in Greenville embraced this concept when they announced an agreement to form a new school to serve the growing population of the city and the surrounding areas.

First Presbyterian Academy and Shannon Forest Christian School officially opened in the fall of 2019 under the name of First Presbyterian Academy. The academy features two campuses: Downtown on West Washington and Shannon Forest on Garlington Road.
First Presbyterian Academy Downtown first opened its preschool in the 1950s and are known for their outstanding academics and nurturing program. This campus now serves students in K2, K3, K4, K5 and a unique K6 program for those not quite ready for 1st Grade. The enrollment at the Downtown campus is 178 students.
The Shannon Forest campus was founded in 1968 as Shannon Forest Christian School. The fully-accredited, college-preparatory school is located on a beautiful 15-acre campus on Garlington Road, with an enrollment of 398 students ranging from K3 – 12th Grades.
Each of these schools offers unique attributes that mesh nicely and will enhance the long-term growth and success of the new school. The Vision and Mission of the new school promises to provide students of all ages a nurturing environment with rigorous academics taught through a Christian worldview, preparing every child for a future of academic excellence and Christian service.
