Partial-Day Childcare

Upstate Kids offers child care with excellent staff for children ages 6 months-5 years old. For the 2020-2021 school year, we are excited to also offer an eLearning room for elementary students (grades K-5th).

Program Hours: Our hours are Monday – Thursday 8-12.

Ages: 6 month-5th grade

Academic Assistance Offered:  Elementary students (grades k-5th) can be dropped off to complete their virtual learning with a teacher who can offer support.

Tuition: Daily drop-in rate of $20/day.

After School Plus is the academic solution to after school care and online learning support for students in K-8th grade. Classes are led by teachers to ensure learning is successful!

Program Hours: We have 3 programs. After school is from end of school day until 5:30 pm, Full day program on eLearning days is from 8:30 am until 3 pm with the option to join after school until 5:30 pm. Academic support for virtual students only is from 9 am until 12 pm.

Ages: K-8th

Academic Assistance Offered: Instruction led by certified teachers. Participants can complete online assignments, live or recorded and complete independent work. Because we are staffed with teachers, content can be retaught or supplemented as needed.

Health and Safety Covid-19 Policies: We will maintain small group cohorts with no mixing of groups. We require mask wearing for all students and staff at all times. Eddlemon Adventist School is religiously affiliated with the Spartanburg Seventh-day Adventist Church and offers curriculum for Kindergarteners – 8th Graders. Their Child Development Center begins at 2 years old.

Prince of Peace Catholic School in Taylors is the primary apostolate of Prince of Peace Parish to offer a curriculum based on the teaching of the Catholic faith. Programs and curriculum are available for K3 – 8th Grades, and K3 & K4 have the option of a half-day or full-day.

Reaching Our Youth-Upstate, Inc. is an organization that was created by the Husband & Wife team, for the purpose of empowering and educating the underprivileged and at-risk youth, in our community. We offer both after school and summer programs, to help alleviate some of the academic pressures that the student and parent may face daily.

Academic Assistance Offered: We are gearing up for the “new” and upcoming 2020-2021 school year!! We
understand that this will be a different view on school this year and it will have a drastic affect on how families will be able to accommodate for their child’s academic success. Our center will offer the luxury of still providing services for both in school
students (Afterschool Care) and students who choose to work from home (Virtual Learning). Our obligation is to make sure that each child has an equal opportunity to obtain their schoolwork and earn the best grade possible, with adequate resources
and technology.

Our current teachers and tutors are qualified and equipped to handle the Elearning.
We were able to have 80 percent of our students maintain either AB Honor Roll or All A’s, during the initial COVID19 pandemic, when Elearning was implemented.

1) All parents will drop-off and pick-up at the door.
2) All children will have their temperature checked when entering the center and before they enter the bus (After-school pickup).

• Staff and children’s temperatures will be taken when they arrive each day, as well as a health questionnaire. They will then wash their hands
• Children will not be permitted to stay if they have a temperature of 100.4 or above
• No one is allowed on site other than children and staff. Parents stay in car during drop off and pick up
• Staff and children’s Temperatures will be taken again at lunch, snack, and recess. Hands will be washed hourly.
• If a child should spike a fever greater than 100.4 during the day, a parent will be called and must pick up within 30 minutes
• If a child or staff member is sent home due to a fever, they must be fever free for 3 days and not have any respiratory symptoms. They must quarantine for at least 10 days since symptoms began. They can return sooner if cleared by a medical doctor in writing.
• Students will be separated into classrooms by families (this includes cousins or neighbors that are in daily contact with each other at home) so we are not sharing germs.
• Masks will be required for staff at all times. Masks will be required for students as much as possible, especially in the hallway, bathroom, etc. If all students in a classroom are from the same family, they can take their masks off in their classrooms. Masks will be placed inside of provided, individually labeled baskets
• Breakfast, lunch, and snack will be eaten outside as much as possible – hand washing before and after. No sharing of food. Students are responsible for throwing their own trash away and cleaning their eating area.
• Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the building
• Staff will disinfect periodically throughout the day (specifically, high-touch areas), and a deep cleaning after students leave
• If a student tests positive, all those in close contact will quarantine for 14 days. Students can return once they receive medical clearance
• If a staff member tests positive, program will close for 14 days
• Staff will receive additional training on covid-19 protocols, guidelines, etc.

The Montessori School of Mauldin offers full-day programs and education for 1st – 6th grade. They also offer Infant Toddler Programs through age 2 and Primary Montessori Classes for 3-6 year olds. The school is approved for CARES Act Funding.
