Obviously, not appropriate for the tots, but if you are looking for something actually scary, here’s a couple haunted houses and Halloween attractions near Spartanburg. I personally don’t pay money to be scared by zombies, so you won’t find any personal comments here. Some of these attractions clearly state what ages they target, others are less clear so we recommend looking at the photo gallery on the websites linked and/or calling the attraction to evaluate whether it’s too scary for your older kids (or you).

Nightmare Hollow
SEPTEMBER: 19, 25 – 26
OCTOBER: 2 – 3, 9 – 10, 16 – 18, 22 – 25 & 29 – 31
Opens at dusk, and closes at 11 p.m. weeknights and when crowds slow on weekends. This attraction includes a 35-minute trail.

Booger Jim’s Hollow
Haunted House, Haunted Trail and Haunted Hayride
Open Friday and Saturdays from 7 pm to midnight in October, Plus Sunday, October 18th, and 25th from 7 pm to 10:30 pm.
Admission: Ticket office opens at 7 p.m. Closing times vary, call after 11:30 p.m.
