Looking for a fun way to explore our state’s different sources of plant- and animal-based products? The South Carolina Agritourism Passport Program is an incentive program where people can earn free goodies for visiting places that are probably already on your to-do list! The good news is there are nearly two dozen farms not far from Greenville and Spartanburg. Visiting farms is more than a fun, family activity; it’s also a field trip-worthy educational opportunity!
The SC Agritourism Passport Program is a free incentive for children and adults to get out and explore participating farms each year. Most of the locations are places you’ve already visited if you are a longtime follower of Kidding Around’s farm adventures. There are locations all over the state, with a bunch in the Upstate.
Participation is simple! On your visit to your first participating farm, just ask for the free passport book. As you visit the different farms, ask for your passport to be stamped. The more stamps you collect before the end of the year, the more prizes you earn.
- 10 Stamps – Certified SC hat
- 20 Stamps – Certified SC t-shirt
- 30 Stamps – Certified SC tumbler
Once you have the passport stamped, you just need to have it sent back to the SC Agritourism Association by the second week of the new year, and they’ll ship you the prizes earned.
Didn’t get all the stamps you hoped to? Don’t worry! You can start a new passport on January 1st, and earn all the prizes!
The passport is also a really handy resource for navigating the different farms of the state. It shows you which locations have festivals, animal experiences, U-Pick, corn mazes, and more.
On a related note, earn some stamps and have some summertime fun on the farm at South Carolina’s AG + ART Tour.
