The Gibbes Museum of Art focuses on artwork that depicts the Lowcountry and the area’s artists. During our visit, several special exhibits were on display including a fascinating large set of Civil War photography.

My husband and I did enjoy the museum, but I would not consider it to be a child-friendly attraction. There were no children’s exhibits and I know that my children would have trouble grasping the significance of the artwork.
