Concerned Citizens for Animals

Concerned Citizens for Animals (CCA) is the oldest no-kill animal shelter in the Upstate. Through their shelter operation in Simpsonville, a thrift store in Greenville, and a variety of community service programs, their goal is to offer a second chance to neglected, stray and abandoned animals. They offer treatment, care, and a safe haven for cats and dogs until they are adopted. They also offer spay and neuter services at a low cost. You can donate anything from clothing to household items to antiques to seasonal items to CCA’s Thrift Shop, and all proceeds directly benefit CCA’s programs.

FootHills Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc.

FootHills Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. is a full-service rescue dedicated to providing rescue and necessary veterinary care for unwanted, neglected, abused, homeless, and displaced golden retrievers. They work hard to find forever homes for these dogs. They try to keep all available dogs in approved foster homes rather than a kennel.

Greenville County Animal Care

This is the largest, open-admission animal facility in South Carolinas. They are dedicated to promoting the compassionate treatment of animals through adoption, education, and affordable spay/neuter and veterinary care. They also accept lost pets from both Greenville and Spartanburg counties.

Greenville Humane Society

The Greenville Humane Society exists to preserve the lives and enhance the well-being of animals. They focus on finding homes for pets, but also offer other services such as vaccinations, spay/neuter, and offering affordable flea/tick/heartworm medications. There are several ways you can get involved: donations, volunteering, fostering, and hosting a fundraiser.

Long Ear Rescue

Long Ear Rescue is owned by Andrea and Jeff Durham who want to ensure every donkey or mule is treated with love and respect. They provide sanctuary care for those animals who are not able to be rehomed, and they provide rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming to eligible equines. They also provide food and veterinary care assistance to owners of equines who have a temporary need of assistance.

The Service Dog Institute knows first-hand that service dogs greatly improve the lives of those with special needs, as well as their families. They exist to help raise and train service dogs, as well as train the service handler and their families before placing service dogs in a loving home. Animal Allies is a low-cost spay and neuter facility serving the Upstate and surrounding areas. They also offer vaccinations and other minor services. Their mission is to reduce the number of unwanted and unclaimed stray dogs and cats in our area.

Feral Cat Program

The Feral Cat Program of Spartanburg County traps feral and community cats (outside stray cats) and transports them to Animal Allies where they’re sprayed, neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped. After the cats recover, they are returned where they were found.
