At Purrposeful Art Studio we combine Humane Education (fostering compassion, responsibility and kindness for all animals) with practical art instruction!
Update: As of March 4, 2023 students now have the option to choose from a variety of mediums including printmaking, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media and cut paper. Students will create a minimum of two (2) pieces, one to keep, and one to sell at an annual fundraising benefit, where the proceeds will be donated to local animal rescue organizations.
Our commitment is to create a safe space, free of judgment, where children who are like minded, can come together to create art that saves lives!
Summer Art Camp: Ages 7-13
Half-Day Camps: Meets five (5) times M-F for a total of fifteen (15) hours. Morning and afternoon sessions available throughout the summer.
Full Day Camps: Meets five (5) times M-F for a total of thirty (30) hours.
June 12th-16th & July 31st-Aug 4th from 9:30-3:30pm.
Weeknight Classes: Ages 7-13
Classes meet six (6) consecutive weeks for a total of nine (9) hours from 4:30-6:00pm.

Two camps in 2023 at Ellaberry Llama Farm where kids will learn to care for llamas, groom, and enjoy hikes with llamas.

Designed for children ages 8-10, campers will learn about life on a farm, including the responsibility of daily feeding, cleaning, grooming, animal care, and growing food and plants.
Offers: Half-day camp for children who love animals. The program, which is held at the Spartanburg Humane Society, teaches campers about basic dog obedience, responsible pet care, and issues impacting animal welfare. Different week-long sessions are designed for kids in grades 5-7 and grades 8-10. Two-hour mini-camps are also offered for children entering grades 3 and 4.
Ballyhoo Petting Zoo is offering an 8-week program for children 8 years old and up. Future Zookeepers will get to learn all about domestic and exotic animals including their diet, grooming, vet care, and more!
