Looking for a class outside the house for your homeschool student? The Upstate has some great options like gymnastics, dance, zoo classes and so much more. Here’s a list of local classes for homeschoolers to get you started!

YMCA of Greenville’s Homeschool PE program provides a place where children can exercise and participate in sports in an instructor-led setting. The program is designed to show participants how much fun exercise can be and is offered at YMCA Program Center in Simpsonville.

Shipshape Farm

Shipshape Farm homeschool classes are an opportunity to get outside, learn about animals and care for them (we have goats, chickens, dogs, a cat named Taffy, and a duck named Donald), play games, dig in the dirt, and just have an all-around old-fashioned good time!

If you would like your kiddo to enjoy tech free play and learning in the sunshine – Shipshape Farm is the place for you! Our classes always involve a story time, walk in the woods, and hands on project. Sometimes we work in the garden, sometimes we learn about critters! (The spring session will be all about chickens as the baby chicks grow!)

Homeschool classes are 2 hours long, once a week in the afternoon. We have 6-week and 3-week long sessions. (We also have Farm School classes for preschool.)

Our facilities are also available to rent for gatherings and birthday parties, where we would love to help turn your moments into memories.

Roots and Wings Nature School

Offers nature-based educational classes in math, literature, project learning, geography, and additional homeschool support.

Classes are typically once per week in a given subject.
Classes are available for ages 4 – 8. Drop-off classes and parent participation classes are available.

United Community of Homeschoolers Unlimited

The UCHU (United Community of Homeschoolers Unlimited) is an option 3 homeschool association.

They offer virtual classes in instrumentals, reading, mindfulness and yoga, drawing, high school courses, and more.

Greenville Classical Academy

Though this is a complete school for students who are not homeschooled, 9th through 12th-grade homeschoolers are welcome to enroll to take individual classes through Greenville Classical Academy’s upper school university model classes. Homeschoolers also have the opportunity to join an athletic team.

EspritGVL

EspritGVL is a co-op that meets in the North Greenville area on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes are offered to 1st through 12th-grade students. The co-op is a drop-off co-op with some volunteer requirements. A wide spectrum of classes are offered as well as park days, meetups, field trips, and support.

Children can explore museum exhibits and participate in additional STEAM based programming led by TCMU staff and educators.

Field Trips: Eden Farms has offered educational field trips for all ages and sizes including church groups, Scout troops, and schools. Groups rotate through their 40-stall barn to different hands-on horse stations to learn about grooming, saddling, healthcare, horse breeds, feeding, healthcare, and more! Bob Jones Museum and Gallery

Homeschool: Museum and Gallery at Bob Jones University host Homeschool Days monthly for students ages 5-14 years old. Classes are at 10 am and 2 pm. Parents may check their child in and leave or stay for a discounted lesson. Classes are held in the Mack Building on the campus of Bob Jones University.

Field Trips: Tours are available for K-12 classes of selected collections on display on the campus of Bob Jones University including: a closer look at American artist Benjamin West during the Revolutionary War and experiencing ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Hebrew cultures as far back as 3200 BC!
