With So Many Educational Options in the Upstate, Why Choose Christ Church Episcopal School?

Posted on | No Comments

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, many families are re-evaluating their child’s educational options for the coming school year. Moms, dads, and caretakers all over the country have had the opportunity (whether wanted it or not!) to take a front seat in their child’s schooling, especially in the elementary grades. In some situations, this has helped expose the potential need for a different learning environment, particularly in light of the uncertainties for the fall.

This fall, Christ Church Episcopal School is planning a 5-day school week with arts and PE. Christ Church Episcopal School’s Lindsay Skelton has information to share about this excellent, private school in Greenville!

Christ Church Episcopal School is a Kidding Around sponsor.

Why Christ Church Episcopal School?

CCES has four core values: Community, Character, Excellence, and Service.

Community: from the moment you step on our beautiful 72 acre campus, you’re enveloped by a sense of warmth and joy. Our group of eager students, invested families, extraordinary faculty, and committed staff create this wonderful school community and imbue a feeling of being welcomed home.

● Character: at each grade level, caring for and deferring to the needs of others is emphasized. Throughout our programs, character development is encouraged, from the lessons learned in our Chapel services to signing a pledge on the Honor Code. A CCES education is aimed at shaping good, kind people who are ready to responsibly and compassionately be globally-minded citizens in our ever-changing world.

● Excellence: we strive to create an enriched and rigorous program that seeks excellence in all avenues: in the classroom, on the playing fields, in the art studio, on the stage, and in personal and spiritual development. Students’ individual needs are met, and they are known and loved by our faculty from K-12th grades. Moreover, our students are challenged to be the best versions of themselves and to operate with a growth mindset encouraging them to try, learn, and achieve.

● Service: we are fortunate to partner with programs throughout the Greenville area in order to give back to our larger community. From a young age, our students learn the satisfaction of leading a life of service by donating their time and efforts to the benefit of others.

What else should you know?

Being an Independent School, CCES has the unique advantage to operate autonomously based on what is in the best interest of our students, families, and faculty/staff. As our Head of School put it, “We are solving for the needs of one school only whereas school districts contend with the challenges of many ‘one size fits all’ decisions for the many schools within their jurisdiction.” Put simply, CCES has the freedom, flexibility, and ability to act in a way that supports our mission, values, and goals above all else.

Join this special community

It is my role as an admission professional to highlight the differentiators that set CCES apart from other area schools and make it a worthy educational investment. However, aside from it being my job, I am genuinely passionate about and believe in the nurturing, individualized, and holistic education our students receive. Now more than ever, I am grateful for and appreciate these differentiating factors and this special community in which I am fortunate to be a part.
