Warbird Weekend at GMU- Static Aviation Display
Step onto the field and experience aviation history up close at the Greenville Downtown Airport! See historic warbirds on static display, meet pilots, and hear the roar of engines as they come to life. The centerpiece is Rosie’s Reply, a WWII-era B-25 Mitchell bomber, joined by “Hairless Joe” (a Douglas C-47 transport plane), a T-6 Texan trainer, and a Celebrate Freedom Foundation UH-1 Huey. Paid passenger and instructional flights are available on select aircraft.
Beyond the planes, check out the City of Greenville Fire Department’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting truck, a drone demo from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Department, South Carolina National Guard aircraft displays, and aviation education vendors — a great look at the many careers that make up the aviation world.
Advance rides: Reserve B-25/C-47 passenger seats at miflightmuseum.org/fly. T-6 Texan instructional flights are booked on-site.
