Looking for a family-friendly spook? You’ll find a few venues that offer not-so-scary houses, mazes and options for families. Madworld Haunted Attractions is always a HUGE hit, and they have special scare medallions in case your kid wants a taste of “spooky” and not “scary”.

• Greer Ghost Tour. Learn something new about Greer on this fun walking tour. Tickets are around $10 per adult (kids are $5)

Halloween Alternatives: Fall Fun

Pumpkin Fest at Silvermont Park, Brevard, NC

Stroll a glowing trail of hand-carved, lighted jack-o’-lanterns at Pumpkin Fest in Brevard’s Silvermont Park! Kids will love face painting, games, storytelling, and a white squirrel scavenger hunt, plus live music, food trucks, and historic mansion tours. The paved, one-third-mile trail is stroller-friendly. Open October 3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and 30, 2026.

Admission is $7 for ages 13+, $5 for ages 3–12, and free for kids under 3; onsite parking is $5 per car, with free parking available about a block away.
