Along with a challenging academic curriculum, the program fosters the development of time management skills and helps students learn to prioritize their responsibilities. Additionally, students are led in discovering and developing their own unique talents and strengths. Most importantly, FOA strives to foster student’s curiosity and love of learning so they become lifelong learners. Our goal is for our students to have success not only in the classroom but in the real world as well.

The Balanced Learning® System has been developed by and taught exclusively at Primrose Schools. It is a research-based curriculum that blends teacher-guided and child-initiated activities with a special emphasis on character development.

What can you expect at Primrose’s private Kindergarten program?

Low student/teacher ratio: 1:14

Literacy Development:  Primrose® has selected a reading series that supports the Balanced Learning® approach to language and literacy learning.

Healthy Balanced Menus: Healthy nutrition not only boosts energy but can elevate a child’s mood and thinking skills during a crucial development stage. Our onsite Chef follows a balanced menu plan that includes all of your child’s meals and snacks throughout the day.

Math Development: The Math Expressions Math Program in our Kindergarten program incorporates the best practices of both traditional and reform mathematics curricula.

Mucho Mundo® Spanish: This Spanish class takes place 5 days a week. Children are enthusiastic about learning theme-related Spanish vocabulary and conversational phrases that correspond to the Primrose weekly Unit of Learning themes.

Thumbs Up! – Physical Health & Development and Outdoor Play: Children have two 30 minutes slots in the daily schedule which they get to go outside. During this time our teachers conduct indoor and outdoor activities and play experiences that help children practice and gain an increased awareness of their physical abilities. In addition to organized activities, our playgrounds provide opportunities for physical challenge and to safely take risks.

Happy Hearts Character Development: This program focuses on the development of good character traits and helps children begin to internalize what it takes to be a good person.

Rhythm & Notes® with Music from The Music Class: Children have a set time for music in their daily schedule, so this takes places five times a week.

Technology in the Classroom: The Computer Center provides opportunities for children to develop confidence in their ability to use a computer, problem solve, and develop literacy skills and concepts.

Parent partnerships: At Primrose, we believe our partnerships with each parent is vital.  You will also receive digital “daily reports” of exactly what your child learned that day, pictures throughout the day, what they ate that day, etc.

Primrose of Five Forks in Simpsonville. Our daughter goes there and we all love it. The staff and owners are so friendly and treat each of us like family. The teachers are all certified teachers and they keep the class sizes small. They have an in house chef that cooks every meal/snack the children have and it is all very healthy (I'm a stickler on food). They will even cater to any food allergies/aversions your child may have. They go from birth to Pre-K and just opened a private Kindergarten, last year. I could go on. It's a great school.
