STRIDES Systematic Tutoring is for your child, age 6-20, who struggles in reading/math. Students with disabilities are welcome. Our instructors encourage students through a systematic plan drawn up for each child by Dr. Everett, whose Ph.D is in Special Education. Unlike most approaches, ours succeeds without emphasizing rules and sight words. It was developed by a speech language pathologist, so students with memory issues make good progress. Our seven locations in Easley, Greenville, Ft. Inn, and Boiling Springs (plus online option) reach all of Upstate, SC. For two decades STRIDES has provided individual tutors for kids who have a tough time learning. About half have documented disabilities, but all are at risk for school failure. Over 50% of students in Upstate SC are below grade level, according to state- wide testing, but all students deserve a chance. Our instructors are here to give them that chance.
Our curriculum develops visual memory, phonemic awareness, automaticity, spelling, comprehension, number sense, and strategies. We retest students monthly to track progress. Most students reach grade level in 3-6 months, and then succeed independently. This is life changing. Our instructors want success for your child, not only for the current school year, but throughout a lifetime.
