What to Ask Before You Book a Bounce House

• Is the company insured? SC Party Rentals and The Wright Inflatables both say on their websites that their rentals are insured. For any company, ask before you book.
• What are the age, height and weight limits? Limits vary by unit, so ask about the specific inflatable you’re renting and how many kids can jump at once.
• How much space and power do I need? Most inflatables need a nearby outlet. Wright Inflatables, for example, needs one within 100 feet of the unit. SC Party Rentals says its jumps can weigh up to 650 pounds and asks for a clear path at least 4 feet wide to the setup spot.
• What surface can it go on? Silly Bob’s sets up on grass, asphalt and concrete but not rocks or dirt. Wright Inflatables can’t set up on sand, dirt or gravel.
• What’s the weather policy? Wright Inflatables says winds over 15 mph are unsafe for bounce house play and the unit must be deflated. Silly Bob’s says it will contact you the day before or that morning if rain or high winds are in the forecast.
• Who supervises? Plan for an adult to watch the kids the whole time. Wright Inflatables says kids should always be under adult supervision.
