Questions Asked About Park Place Children’s Center:
What makes Park Place different from other preschools? Safety is the top priority. The security system includes video monitoring of every classroom, parking lot, and playground; UVC lights sanitize the air in all HVAC systems; the lobby has touch-free automatic doors; and a full-time housekeeper works during the day while an outside company cleans and sanitizes the entire school every weeknight. The campus also includes 21 spacious classrooms, a gym, a library, an enrichment room, and three age-appropriate playgrounds, with Spanish taught daily for children age two and older and optional extracurricular activities for K3 and K4.
What are the teacher qualifications? Most teachers hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education; every staff member is certified in infant and child CPR and First Aid, and all staff complete 15 hours of continuing education each year. Low student-to-teacher ratios and small class sizes mean each child’s individual needs are recognized and met quickly.
As both a parent and a teacher, I can confidently say that Park Place Children’s Center has exceeded every expectation. I wholeheartedly recommend this preschool to any family looking for a loving, academically strong, and developmentally appropriate environment for their child. In my opinion, it is truly one of the finest early childhood programs in South Carolina.

We absolutely loved our time here! The facility is incredibly clean, modern, and spacious, which gave us so much peace of mind from day one. The teachers were always patient, caring, and informative, and it was clear how much they genuinely cared about the children.
One of our favorite features was the camera access, which allowed us to check in whenever we were missing our little one during the day. We also really appreciated the app updates that kept us informed about feedings, naps, diaper changes, and daily activities. The communication was excellent and made us feel connected and involved even when we couldn’t be there. We are so grateful for the care, attention, and support our family received and would highly recommend this daycare to other parents.

The Meyer Center provides an early childhood education program for preschoolers with developmental delays and disabilities.
This nonprofit program integrates occupational, speech, physical, and music therapies with academic and developmental instruction to empower children with disabilities to reach their maximum potential. Admission is based on an evaluation conducted by a team to determine a child’s eligibility for services.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, The Meyer Center will introduce a 4K Inclusion Program. This initiative creates a thoughtfully structured learning environment where typically developing children and children with disabilities learn together, building school readiness skills. Research shows that this inclusive approach benefits and supports the growth of both groups.
Our K3/K4 preschool blends art, nature, music, social emotional learning, and outdoor play with a proven curriculum to ensure children are confident and ready for Kindergarten!

Quick FAQ: Choosing A Preschool Near Greenville, SC
- How do I know if a preschool is licensed in South Carolina?
South Carolina child care programs are licensed through the SC Department of Social Services (DSS). You can look up any program’s current license status, inspection history, and any violations through the SC Child Care Database. It’s worth checking directly before enrolling, since license status can change. - What’s the difference between half-day and full-day preschool programs?
Half-day programs usually run two to three hours in the morning or afternoon and focus on early learning basics like letters, numbers, and social skills. Full-day programs run closer to a standard workday, often 7:30 or 8am to 5:30 or 6pm, and combine that same instruction with meals, rest time, and extended care for working families. Some Greenville-area preschools offer both options, so it’s worth asking about schedule flexibility when you tour. - Do I need to apply to multiple preschools in Greenville?
Many popular Greenville-area preschools, especially church-affiliated and Montessori programs, fill up months in advance and keep waitlists. Applying to two or three programs at once is common practice here and gives you more flexibility if your first choice doesn’t have an opening for your child’s age group or start date. - What ages qualify for SC First Steps 4K?
South Carolina’s First Steps 4K program is available to four-year-old children, meaning your child must turn four by September 1 of the enrollment year. The program is income-eligible and free for qualifying families, and it’s offered through a mix of public schools, private preschools, and licensed child care centers across the Upstate.
Did we miss one of your favorite preschools? Greenville, SC has a lot, so we may have missed your favorite on our list? Let us know in the comments.

Any insight about Greenville First Baptist Church Kindergarten? Have heard some local buzz & thought it would be on the list but didn’t see it so just wondered. Thanks! LOVE the blog!!
First Baptist Church has an excellent infant/toddler and kindergarten program. My first child started the infant/toddler program in 2007 and we have been there since. My 2nd and 3rd children are still there in the kindergarten program now. It is a wonderful place for a child to learn, grow, and live in the moment.
I’m really surprised Brookwood Academy didn’t make this list! It is an awesome school with loving teachers, lots of fun activities & a great curriculum. They do an awesome job of preparing your child for K5!
Thanks for recommending it here in the comments!
Five Oaks is amazing – so glad to see it on here! We have been there for 3 years and will have 3 kids there next year. The nice thing is, it goes all the way to 8th grade. It’s small, personal, gorgeous, and like a big family. So unique – one in a million!
Those are all good, but in my opinion you left out the best one of all….Furman CDC is in a league of it’s own!!!
Calvary Christian preschool of Simpsonville is great! I’ve had two of my kids go through there and my third is there now. Teachers are caring and take their job seriously. Love how they actually do a curriculum for all the classes.
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Preschool has a great program! All teachers have a college education and use strategic behavior models for the children. MLBC Preschool works really hard to prepare the children for elementary school!
Where is Mitchell Road Christian Academy in this list? It is a wonderful preschool and school. My oldest has been there since 3k and my youngest can’t wait to go to his brother’s school next year!
I am so surprised Mitchell Road Christian Academy wasn’t on the list.
Amazing school with wonderful, loving teachers and strong academics!!
I am shocked that Westminster Weekday School was not mentioned. My children and now my grandchildren attend there. It is a nurturing environment with an incredible educational curriculum.
First Baptist. First Presbyterian. Buncombe Street Methodist and Westminster Presbyterian all have very popular preschool and kindergarten programs closer to downtown Greenville.
I know another one that should be on the list-Woodruff Rd Christian Church Preschool! They are awesome. My 2 boys went there after I visited several preschools in the area. They have small classes, wonderful teachers & a director so involved that she knows all the kids by name. They also strike a great balance with learning & playing. Don’t miss out on this wonderful place for your children to learn & grow.
I’d love to see our wonderful preschool and K5 program Immanuel Lutheran in Five Forks added to this list. The teachers are kind, loving, patient, and skilled not only in supporting the emotional needs of these age groups but also in fostering our children’s spiritual and educational growth. The entire school is one of the cleanest I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting and my children were rarely, if ever, sick during the school year. How much do we love it? We have driven from Greer for the past four years to attend and would do it again!
We’ve been everywhere. Take a look at First Pres’s Academy. Tom Roe has made a huge difference in the cirriculum there (he came from AJ Whittenberg to run this school). Their new Academic 4K has been wonderful for my child. Looks like she will be reading any day now, has great “big school” skills, and is certainly ready to move to kindergarten or Primer at CCES even with a summer birthday. Truly the academics for little ones are top notch. I cannot reccomend First Baptist Preschool. Children are not ready for a rigorous academic environment coming from there, unfortunately. Their toddler program, however, is the best around.
We are really Happy to see St. Giles Presbyterian Preschool in this list. My twins are studying in this School. And they truly deserve this.
My kids love to go to school because of the way they teach & treat the Kids.
My hearty congratulations to St. Giles Presbyterian Preschool
Regards
Anbu & Durga
Calvary Christian Preschool is an awesome school. From K2 tp K5 they use the A Beka curriculum. The K5 SAT scores are consistently far above their grade level.
First Presbyterian Church located in downtown Greemville has an amazing MMO, as well as Preschool. All three if my children went to both (our third child is still in 2k) and both programs are stellar and do an incredible job at “Training up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. If you are looking for a program that puts Christ in the center then THIS IS IT!!!
Five Oaks Academy IS very deserving of a “Top 10”, for all of their classes from Toddler through Grade 8. My 3 boys have been through all of the levels. My 2 older ones have gone on to do quite excellently in Brashier Middle College Charter High School, even well prepared to take college classes at GTC beginning in 10th grade. Our last son graduates from 8th grade this year, and the time and money spent with this most loving, caring, diligent group of teachers and administrators has completely been worth it. My boys have received a world-class education in a nurturing environment, and we forever have a “family” with the teachers and other families from Five Oaks!!
White Oak CDC & Kindergarten is also a great place! Several children I know went there & I also have past experience working there. Maybe you could add it to the list! Here is there website link!
http://www.whiteoaksc.com/weekday-early-education.html
My daughter goes to White Oak Kindergarten and she loves it. I also love them. Her k3 teacher and the after school care teachers are fantastic. They love each and every child there.
I cannot agree with this more! White Oak is Greenvilles best kept childcare secret. The kindest most loving center. Doesn’t have all the frills of newer places but that’s part of its charm.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned Bob Jones. Their CDC is excellent. I have 3 boys who attended K2-K5 or a summer camp session and loved it. My last child will finish this year then go on to public school. The teachers are amazing and the kids are way ahead of the curve in what they’re learning. They are reasonably priced and do not follow the Greenville County school schedule. If you’re a working parent this is great. Yes, my children all went through what we called the ‘Billy Graham Phase’. They prefer Christian radio over anything else and will chide one another for doing the ‘sprinkler’ to a ‘Jesus song’. It beats the alternative and as a result they are kind, loving and intelligent children and were surrounded by a staff whose life mission is to teach. I highly recommend BJA. And we’re not even Baptist!
We are so fortunate to have such great options for preschool! I would highly recommend both Simpsonville United Methodist and Legacy Academy on Woodruff Road. Both have been great for us. If SUMC had a full-time option, we would have been there until Kindergarten, but our needs changed and Legacy has been a wonderful fit.
Both schools have loving, caring, educated teachers. I hope you’ll add them to your future lists!
Furman CDC is a small program at Furman University. It uses the Project Approach curriculum model and seeks to meet the needs of every individual child through relationships built with the children and families. Definitely one to consider.
We truly love Solverus Christian Academy. Our children have learned so much and they have always felt like part of our family. The staff is very loving.
St. Giles Preschool is wonderful! My daughter started at St. Giles in the 1 yr. old class and is currently enrolled in the k4 program. She has learned so much and absolutely loves school! We adore the teachers and staff as they feel like family. Very positive and nurturing atmosphere – I think they do an excellent job of building strong, confident, well-rounded students who are MORE than ready for K5! Highly recommend!
Our son attended SolVerus Christian Academy for 3 years. His transition into kindergarten was easy, he was very well prepared for that. SolVerus has a complete program that helps children to develop all the aspects necessary to learn well and build a great foundation for years to come. We were extremely happy with our choice and glad that our son had spent his preschool years in a friendly, safe and nurturing environment while developing all necessary skills to face elementary school. We miss all of the staff at SolVerus. They were like family to usl!!
I cannot say enough about the wonderful curriculum and environment at SolVerus Christian Academy (mauldin campus). We have always felt that our children our loved and safe, as the staff very friendly and involved with them. We really feel like family.. The program is excellent and we have seen both of our children flourish and thrive within the program. I would highly suggest this wonderful Academy.
We love Carolina Prep off Roper Mt. Road extension!
Carolina prep is a terrible school with unsafe practices. They will move your children to classrooms and situations that they are too young for just to clear a space for a new tutition check to enroll. They don’t listen to the concerns of the parents and often make decisions about your child without the knowledge or consent of the parents. They have a huge turnover rate of teachers and support staff, from day to day it’s hard to keep track of who is suppose to be teaching and caring for my child. CP is also very expensive given the way the school is run compared to other schools in the community.
That’s unfortunate; we’ve had nothing but a great experience.
Brushy Creek Baptist Weekday should be on this list! It is a top notch preschool with great teachers! Highly recommend! !
I can no say enough good about Carolina International Prep School. The teachers are amazing!
Please add Little Me Academy that is located in O’NEAL Village in Greer. Mandi Newton is the owner and she has a wonderful preschool program and she is starting an afterschool program for kids that attend Skyland Elementary. My daughter has been at little me for preschool and every summer and this year for after school. Love the teachers there and the God Centered Curriculum.
Mauldin United Methodist Preschool & Kindergarten is one of the best! My kids have learned so much while attending there and the staff goes above and beyond!
My child began attending Abiding Peace Academy this past fall, and we love it. He is excited to go to school each day, and I am happy to leave him in such a safe, nurturing, and loving environment. I also appreciate the excellent communication between school and home with the weekly school wide newsletter in addition to emails directly from the teacher.
Love Prince of Peace Catholic School! (K3-8th grade)
Cadence Academy 8596 Pelham Road Greenville, SC 29615 864-627-0062
