Fun For All Ages
At Canopy Ridge Farm, ziplining isn’t just for adults or big kids. From their oldest guest at 93 years old to their youngest at 2 years old, every generation can safely enjoy this adventure.
Our 7-year-old happily rode tandem with a parent and then said “yes!” to zipping solo on three lines. Our 9 & 11 yr olds rode tandem together, which was a great bonding experience. They had the option to do three lines themselves but chose to stick together on two because it was so fun as a duo! Watching them bond mid-air is a memory that will stay with me forever.
Our Canopy Ridge Farm Zipline Adventure
From the moment we checked in with Ms. Joyce, we knew we were in great hands. She talked us through what to expect, discreetly weighed us in (this is critical for any zipline experience) and sent us to meet our guides, Justin and Connor. These two took safety seriously while simultaneously keeping things light-hearted with endless laughs and groan-worthy jokes. The entertainment factor was on point! They even got my quiet kids laughing out loud.
Harnessed and helmeted, our adventure began with an ATV ride to the first zipline. Buckle in for a bumpy ride. In between giggles, my daughter kept saying “he’s a crazy driver!” but in reality it was just a fun ATV ride through the rocky trails. This was NOT your average minivan drive up a hill.
The first zip went without a hitch, and watching my two tandem kiddos put their arms around each other while flying through the air was such a sweet moment. Even strangers in our group couldn’t help but smile and cheer on the brave kids.
After we had completed the first few ziplines, our guides gave us an opportunity to zip upside down. Yes, you read that right. Up. Side. Down. As if we weren’t already on an adrenaline high! My advice, come with empty pockets. You’re going to want to try it. My 11-year-old led the way and I quickly followed.
The entire tour took about two hours and featured six ziplines perfect for beginners and seasoned adventurers alike.
Know Before You Go
- Reservations: Highly recommended, but you might have luck as a walk-in early in the season.
- What to Wear: Come ready for adventure with closed-toe shoes and comfy clothes.
- Age & Weight Info: Guests 2 years & up are welcome. Kids under 45 lbs ride tandem; those 45-74 lbs can zip solo on select lines. Anyone 75 lbs and up can ride all six lines independently.
- Restrooms: Use them before you start. The trees don’t offer facilities!
- Capture Memories: Rent a GoPro or grab a silicone phone holder. The videos we took are priceless. We’ve already rewatched them a hundred times.
- Parking: For convenience, opt for their gravel lot.
- Snacks & Drinks: Bring snacks for post-adventure appetites. Our kids really worked up an appetite.
- Bug Spray: Recommended later in the season.
- Cash: Remember to tip your amazing guides. They enhanced the entire experience and it wouldn’t have been the same without them.

A Canopy Ridge Farm Adventure To Remember
Our trip to Canopy Ridge Farm was truly a wonderful first-time zipline experience for our kids. I went into it extremely nervous about my 7 year old but once we got going, her joy (& the consistent safety checks by our guides) eased my mind completely.
