City of Laurens Kick off Weekend to the Holidays 'Come Home to Laurens'

Join us for a festive kickoff to the holiday season with the City of Laurens Annual Tree Lighting on Friday, December 6, and the Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7. The celebrations begin Friday with a Christmas Market featuring local vendors offering food, crafts, and gifts starting at 3:00 PM. Downtown businesses on the square will also be open, offering holiday specials and gift ideas. The Tree Lighting Ceremony officially starts at 6:00 PM with music from Davidson Brass, caroling by local students, holiday crafts with Sanders Middle School, and a visit from Santa. Families can also enjoy s’mores by the firepit and festive surprises throughout the evening. Carriage rides with Axel Blue Equine Services will be available, providing a magical ride through downtown.

The festivities continue on Saturday with the Christmas Market and carriage rides from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to shop local and enjoy holiday specials downtown before the Christmas Parade begins at 4:00 PM. This year’s parade theme, “Come Home for Christmas,” will feature festive floats, a Grand Marshal, and an appearance by Santa to spread holiday cheer. Parade entry slots are now open, with participants asked to donate a minimum of $50 in non-perishable items to benefit local charities.
