Great Southeast Pollinator Census
Friends of Gorges State Park, Gorges State Park, Transylvania County Extension Master Gardeners and the Oconee Bell Chapter of the North Carolina Native Plant Society are hosting this opportunity to participate in the Great Southeast Pollinator Count at Gorges State Park, 976 Grassy Ridge Road, Sapphire, NC, Friday, August 21st . There will be two one-hour segments with the first from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the second from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
There will be 12 volunteers participating in each hour segment. Brief training will be provided in how to count the pollinators and capture the information needed. Participants will need to dress for the weather as this will occur rain or shine. Participants may bring children who will be supervised at all times. The number of children and ages of children are to be supplied in the comments box when registering for the event.
