FIRST PRESBYTERIAN ACADEMY PRESCHOOL

At First Presbyterian Academy Preschool, each child receives instruction with sensitivity toward small class sizes and varying developmental stages. In addition to a challenging academic program, students are also nurtured in their social and emotional needs according to a biblical worldview.  Related classes (for appropriate ages) include Music, Physical Education, Art, Chapel and Spanish.

Camp Greenville  

Camp Greenville, operated by the YMCA of Greenville for 110 years, offers family camp weekends for families with members who have Down syndrome and Autism. Spectrum & Stargazer Family Camp offers a spring and a fall weekend in a fun and safe environment to have amazing family fun. Enjoy the beauty and adventure of camp with others who understand how amazingly unique and talented we all are in our different ways. 

Spring Spectrum & Stargazer Family Camp is May 6-8, 2022.
Fall Spectrum & Stargazer Family Camp is September 16-18, 2022.

iCanBike 

A vast majority of people with disabilities have never had the experience of independently riding a conventional two-wheel bicycle. Research shows that over 80% of people with Autism and 90% of people with Down syndrome never experience this.  YMCA of Greenville collaborates with iCan Shine to defy these odds by running a 5-day camp called iCan Bike, which teaches individuals with disabilities how to ride a conventional, two-wheel bike.

RECESS

RECESS (Recreation, Education, Community, Exercise, Social and Service) is a signature program of The YMCA of Greenville for post-high school adults with diverse abilities. During programming, participants learn about nutrition, fitness, social responsibility, community outreach, and independent living skills. RECESS allows adults with diverse abilities not only a place to continue to learn new skills, but also gives them a place to connect with friends and gain a sense of belonging.

Swim Lessons

The YMCA of Greenville offers their own swim curriculum for those with diverse abilities. The Caine Halter Family branch and Prisma Health Family branch offer private lessons in addition to a monthly swim with YMCA RECESS participants. Contact your branch to set up an introductory session!

Day Camp at the YMCA of Greenville is a great place for children and teens to start finding magic in the adventure! We are excited to have your camper experience a fun-filled, exciting summer!

It is important that your child has a wonderful “first”, “second”…or “seventh” camp experience. The YMCA of Greenville’s goal is to create an atmosphere of trust and friendship so that each camper will feel happy and confident at camp. Campers’ activities include but are not limited to: assemblies, choice activities based on weekly themes, skits, stories, arts & crafts, fitness activities, relays, character development, academic enrichment and counselor huddle times.

The YMCA of Greenville camp program is progressively structured to challenge children according to their age. Camp programming is planned to give children an introduction to a wide variety of camp activities, along with providing them the opportunity for creative expression.

Summer Day Camp is offered at Caine Halter Family YMCA (Greenville), Eastside Family YMCA (Taylors), George I. Theisen Family YMCA (Travelers Rest), Judson Community Center (Greenville) and Prisma Health Family YMCA (Simpsonville).

Financial assistance is available for most camps.

Enjoy a Minor League Baseball game with the Greenville Drive at Fluor Field in Downtown Greenville. The Greenville Drive also offers special events and birthday party packages.

In addition to the PE program, YMCA of Greenville offers a diverse array of programs for all families including youth sports,  aquatics lessons and family camps.

This 900-acre farm located just north of I-85 between Anderson and Clemson boasts one of the largest corn mazes in the southeast. In addition to the maze, they offer a wide assortment of activities including play areas, farm animals and a u-pick pumpkin patch. The activities are all covered under one admission price. Denver Downs Farm is open daily late September through mid-November.

Camp GOTR is ONE-OF-A-KIND and registration is NOW OPEN! Camp GOTR by Girls on the Run provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for all girls to develop self-confidence and learn life skills they can use now and as they grow.

Soccer instruction will be coached by Liberty Head Coach, Julie Carlson and the Liberty players. The week-long camp combines the best of the Girls on the Run program with all the fun of camp plus a unique experience with the Greenville Liberty Soccer team!

The program is designed to address physical, emotional, and social development in 3rd through 5th grade girls through fun and engaging lessons. Using an intentional curriculum that incorporates small and large group games, physical activity, interactive workshops, and individual reflection, girls learn valuable skills to help them build meaningful and positive connections with others.

Is your elementary student struggling in school? Camperdown Academy offers rising 1st-6th graders a chance to combine summer learning with summer FUN at Camp Creekside!

Specially trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach, teachers utilize multisensory instruction with a campwide 5:1 student to teacher ratio to ensure maximum progress. Academics in the morning focus on reading, writing, and math. Afternoons are filled with adventures that provide an exciting and engaging camp experience.

Weekly themes will have your child eagerly anticipating Board Battles, Sports are a BALL, Stroke of Art, Olympics-Go for Gold, and STEM-tastic adventures.

Camperdown Academy is a school that specializes in successfully helping children who struggle with language-based learning differences. Camp Creekside does not require that your child have a documented diagnosis for dyslexia.

All camp activities take place on the 10 acre campus in the heart of the Verdae community near downtown Greenville. The summer camp is run by the experienced and dedicated teachers of Camperdown Academy.

Camp Creekside is a five-week adventure designed to deliver academic results. Dates are June 10-July 19 with no camp the week of July 4. Camp runs from 9am-3:30pm weekdays with an optional early 8am arrival. Cost is $400 per week.

Offers: K3 – Middle School

For 50 years, Mitchell Road Christian Academy has upheld a tradition of academic excellence, character development, and spiritual formation for students in K3-8th grade. We provide a safe environment with caring, accessible, and experienced teachers who challenge and nurture students. MRCA offers half-day Early Education programs as well as half and full-day options for our K5 classes. After-school care is available until 3 pm for K3 and K4 students and until 5:30 pm for K5-8^th grade

Shipshape Farm homeschool classes are an opportunity to get outside, learn about animals and care for them (we have goats, chickens, dogs, a cat named Taffy, and a duck named Donald), play games, dig in the dirt, and just have an all-around old-fashioned good time!

The YMCA of Greenville offers classes and activities for children throughout the year at five locations – Caine Halter Family YMCA (downtown Greenville), Eastside Family YMCA (Taylors), Prisma Health Family YMCA (Simpsonville),  YMCA Judson and the George I. Theisen Family YMCA (Travelers Rest). Classes and sports leagues are available to members and non-members.

Basketball: Did you know that basketball was invented at the YMCA? The love for basketball remains at the Y where each player is met at their skill level. Children, ages 4-14, can sign up for summer and winter basketball leagues or try it out for a week in one of our Summer Day Camps 

Soccer: Soccer’s simple rules are a great way to introduce children to sports. The YMCA of Greenville offers spring and fall soccer leagues or kids can try it out for a week in one of our Summer Day Camps. Teams are available for children ages 3-14.

Swim: The YMCA of Greenville offers swim lessons for anyone six months or older. Classes are progressive and build off each individual’s skills and are available throughout the day. For more advanced swimmers, the YMCA has Swim Academy, a specialized program that teaches the basics of swim team and competitive swimming and helps advanced swimmers hone their skills.

T Ball: The YMCA of Greenville’s T-ball program is designed to be a developmental league for the youngest players. Children ages 3-7 will learn the necessary skills they need to master before moving on to play coach’s pitch, travel baseball or travel softball.

Flag Football: Spring and Fall Flag Football is open to children ages 4-14. Participants learn football fundamentals such as footwork, ball control, passing and teamwork.

Volleyball: Did you know that volleyball was also invented at the YMCA? This popular indoor sport is offered to ages 8-16 twice a year at select branches at the YMCA of Greenville. Kids can also try it out for a week in one of our Summer Day Camps.

Dance: Seasonal dance classes are offered at the Prisma Health Family YMCA in Simpsonville, and throughout the year via Carolina Dance Collaborative at several other YMCA of Greenville locations.

Golf: The YMCA Youth Golf Program is designed for children ages 5-14 that have varying levels of golf experience including beginners, intermediate and brand new to the game. 

Adventure Guides and Trailblazers: Parent/Child pairs are grouped into circles of others and their surrounding community.  Circles meet on their own for different events and activities on a regular basis and the program as a whole offers events open to all circles throughout the season.  Events include two weekend camps out at YMCA Camp Greenville, pinewood derby race, a chili cook-off and a father-daughter semi-formal Valentines Dance.

World Upside Down Arts Studio offers classes in music, visual arts, dance, and theater for children, youth, and adults.

Theater Program: Tim St. Clair II directs our fall and spring seasons. For the fall 2023 season, we are producing Beauty of the Beast and will have two casts. Tuesday: 9am-12pm (Cast 1) and 5pm-8pm (Cast 2). Rehearsals are weekly until the month of the show.

After School Program: Choose two, three, or five-days a week from 3pm-6pm (early drop off included). One hour of homework assistance and two hours of arts daily from 3:00PM-6:00PM. Show and Tell and Guest Speakers on Friday.

Homeschoolers: Pick a morning or afternoon or both to take classes in all of the arts at our studio.

Yellowbobbypins Art Camp is an exciting destination for creative kids aged two through twelve who are looking to explore their artistic side. The art studio offers a wide variety of materials and techniques to introduce students to the world of art.

Young children aged two through five have access to the Wee Create Playgroup. Children in this age range can gather to play and socialize while learning key skills and participating in various art projects. This playgroup is designed to foster creativity, social interaction, and the development of motor skills.

Elementary-aged students have the opportunity to choose between two courses. The first is Time Travel: Art Through the Ages. This course explores the various art movements throughout history and allows students to create artwork in the style of each time period. The second course is Drawing 101 or Drawing 102. Giggles Drop-In Childcare has a new easy going preschool program that is perfect for your child’s first preschool experience or if you simply need something that can be adapted to your changing schedule.  We focus on lesson plans that teach the fundamentals in short, play based activities. For children ages 3-5.

Our preschool program is just like a daycare or mother’s morning out program, but with a twist. With our program, you choose when to come and for how long. It’s preschool on your schedule.  Can’t drop off or pick up at the same time each day?  No problem.  We are flexible!

When? Any hours between 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM Labor day to Memorial Day
How Much?  $650 per month for 1 child and $350 for siblings. This includes 6 hours per day/5 days per week. If you need more or less time please call for options.

Dance is for everyone, regardless of age, shape, size, or ability at Dance Without Limits. Dance classes are offered for students ages 18 months to 18 years old.

Offerings include the Twinkle Toes preschool program (ballet, tap, and hip hop/tumbling combo) and elementary through high school classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acrobatics, and hip hop. A special Limitless Friends class is also offered for students with disabilities. All classes are inclusive, and Dance Without Limits enjoys offering a family-friendly, non-competitive dance program.

Twinkle Toes Preschool Dance Program

Twinkle Baby and Me: (ages 18-24 months) A 30-minute introductory class containing ballet, tap, and creative movement. Young dancers will learn the basics in a positive environment. Engaging age-appropriate music is used to get these little ones inspired to dance. An adult is required to participate in this class.

Twinkle Babies: (ages 2-3) A 45-minute introductory dance class containing ballet, tap, and creative movement. Young dancers will learn the basic steps while learning how to follow directions and imitate movement in a positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little ones inspired to dance. The use of props, like Twinkle Bears, hula hoops, and bubbles, enables the young dancers to use their imagination and creativity, but mostly to have fun!

Twinkle Stars: (ages 3-4 and 4-5) An age-specific 45-minute class containing tap, ballet, and jazz/creative movement. The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. Dancers will also learn basic steps and terminology in all three styles. The use of fun age-appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies. Plus, hula hoops, scarves, and bubbles for free dance makes the end of class so much fun!

Tot Hop & Tumble: (ages 3-5) This upbeat 45-minute class introduces our young dancers to basic elements of hip hop, creative movement, and beginner-level tumbling. We incorporate obstacle courses and fun props, such as our mini trampoline and hula hoops! The perfect way to release the wiggles while learning hip hop fundamentals.

Twinkle Ballet: (ages 3-5) This 30-minute class for our young dancers incorporates all the ballet elements from our regular Twinkle Stars class, without the tap portion. The perfect class for little ones who enjoy a bit of a quieter setting.

Elementary, Middle, and High School Classes

Tap: (ages K5-18) A percussive style of dance which gets its name from the sound made when the metal plates on the dancer’s shoes contact the floor. Emphasis on rhythm and clarity of sounds from the feet.

Ballet: (ages K5-18) A class which progresses from beginning ballet steps to advanced technique and placement. Each class will begin at the barre, then move to center floor work and across the floor. Ballet is the building block of all other forms of dance and necessary to excel in all other forms. For this reason, we strongly encourage all students to take a ballet class.

Jazz: (ages K5-18) Jazz builds on the fundamentals learned in ballet and is very structured in technique. The class progresses from a center warm-up with emphasis on strength and flexibility, then moves to across the floor combinations, finishing with a fun combo in center floor. Jazz takes many forms, and is often performed to upbeat, popular music.

Lyrical/Contemporary: (ages K5-18) Lyrical/Contemporary is a fusion of jazz and ballet which uses movement to interpret a song’s lyrics. The class progresses from a center warm-up with emphasis on strength and flexibility, then moves to across the floor combinations, finishing with a combo in center floor. Typically, lyrical is very fluid and quite beautiful!

Hip Hop: (ages K5-18) Also known as street dance, hip hop is an upbeat dance style that has become hugely popular with fun and exciting choreography and engaging music. All music and dance moves are age appropriate. All-boys hip hop class also available.

Acrobatics: (ages K5-18) This class teaches the basics of floor tumbling (such as forward and backward rolls, backbends, cartwheels, etc.) and progresses to advanced tumbling (such as handsprings and aerial work). Teachers work with students on their individual level.

Limitless Friends: This is a movement class for students ages 6 and up with disabilities. Elements of jazz, hip hop, and acrobatics are incorporated in this fun class, along with games and free dance.

For 50 years, Mitchell Road Christian Academy has upheld a tradition of academic excellence, character development, and spiritual formation for students in K3-8th grade. 25 years ago, Barbara Gay, a public art teacher for 20+ years, began teaching her two daughters art skills from her garage. Now, Children’s Art Classes has expanded to over a dozen locations and counting.

Children’s Art Classes offers summer workshops and a nine- month programs of study to thousands of children across America.

We aim to provide a holistic art education program that enhances the lives of its students, improves their self- esteem, and boosts academic performance by offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes over 40 areas of visual art , including drawing, painting, sculpture, and graphic design. We believe that art education can significantly benefit children’s development and have designed a program to enhance their creativity, problem- solving skills, and critical thinking abilities.

Let your child have “The Ultimate Adventure” this summer at Coast 2 Coast Camps (C2C Camps). We have plenty of fun and exciting field trips, games, sports, arts & crafts, chapels and “The Ultimate Adventure” themed activities planned. Your child will make friendships that will last a lifetime as well as have the opportunity for leadership & character development.

Camp is open Monday – Friday from 7am to 6pm. We have multiple options of program attendance to fit your needs for kids from grades K5- 8th grade. Our annual contract is only $100 per week and includes summer camp plus after school care including pick up from area schools, during the school year. If you’re looking for just summer camp, then our summer camp contract is only $160 and includes field trips and activities. We also have daily or weekly drop in options available to fit any attendance needs you may have.
