When our family first started homeschooling, I realized how much I’d taken for granted the carefully curated book lists of the traditional school system. In the homeschool world, there are truly limitless options—it can be overwhelming to know what to choose for each subject, at each age, for each child! That’s where Learning Cycle comes in.

Consignment at Its Finest!

The Learning Cycle shelves

Learning Cycle is known as “Greenville’s Homeschool Store” for a reason: It is hands-down the premier homeschool consignment store in Upstate South Carolina. They sell new and gently used homeschool curricula, classic novels, board books, and all kinds of learning resources. And of course, they also buy them!

These services alone are invaluable to the homeschool community of the Upstate, but there’s even more that makes Learning Cycle an unmatched treasure.

Knowledgeable Owners, Ready to Help!

Just wait until you meet the owners, Billy and Caroline! They know what it’s like to be new to homeschooling and trying to figure out the journey. When they saw the chance to start helping other families along the way, they leapt in with both feet! Learning Cycle was born in 2013, and has been faithfully serving the Upstate ever since.

When you walk into Learning Cycle, you will almost always see Billy and Caroline smiling behind the counter or busy stocking the shelves. While the store is easy to browse, I tend to go straight to one of them to ask for help. After graduating multiple homeschoolers and running the business for over a decade, they are extraordinarily well-versed in the resources available.

If they don’t have what you need in-store, Billy and Caroline are happy to put something on their watchlist for you, and they’ll call as soon as it comes in. If you’re traveling a ways to reach them, or your busy schedule is getting in the way, they’re also happy to hold requested items until you can get there. Something else I love? They often post some of their best new stock on Facebook, and are quick to respond when you swoop in to claim it!

Learning Cycle’s New and Improved Location!

In March 2025, they even moved into a new and expanded space! Conveniently located off Laurens Road, right near Pleasantburg Drive, the new storefront has been transformed into an ideal shopping space for busy homeschool families. It boasts more shelves and wider aisles, easy to navigate even while pushing a double-stroller. There’s a play table for fidgety little ones, and a big, beautiful, white picnic table where bigger kids can settle in to sample a book.

The Learning Cycle

A meeting room is also in the works, where homeschoolers might one day soon find community groups, study sessions, and more offered to their families! Billy and Caroline are determined to help homeschool families find the resources and support they need to succeed, so don’t be surprised if you see Learning Cycle continue to grow its impact across the Upstate!
