Myami Bites: Gather GVL’s Newest Tenant Is Bringing The Flavors Of Miami to Greenville, SC

Posted on |

Looking for empanadas in Greenville, SC? One of the newest trends in the food world right now is empanadas, and finding them in Greenville just got easier at Myami Bites. Lynda and Tomas Prado left their popular restaurant in Charleston to feed the Upstate’s hungry residents. Kidding Around’s Melanie is excited to share the details of this husband and wife run restaurant with readers!

It’s no secret that I spend a good bit of time in the Charleston area. It’s my home away from home, and one of the reasons that the coverage of that area of South Carolina is is plentiful on the pages of Kidding Around. I can’t tell you how excited I am that so many Charleston based restauranteurs are opening up spots in the Greenville market.

HOWEVER, the news that one Charleston restaurant was coming had me more excited than any other: Myami Bites. The announcement that Chef Tomas Prado and his wife Lynda would be one of the newest tenants at Gather GVL had me screaming with delight. It was definitely one of those “I didn’t even know this was something I could wish for!” moments. Then the news that they weren’t just here to open up Myami Bites and head back to Charleston, but that they were here to stay!!! It was like Christmas all over again.

If you have ever been to the southern end of Florida, you know it’s not like anywhere else. Miami is such a melting pot of different Caribbean and Hispanic cultures that it distinctly has its own vibe. It’s something I miss about living in Florida. The ability to transport yourself to a different world with just a short drive down Alligator Alley. Thanks to the Prados, we can all enjoy a little bit of Miami without driving for hours. I’m even more excited to have easy access to Empanadas for the Downtown Greenville Salsa at Sunset events again!
