Are you excited for the South Carolina Children’s Theatre 35th season? The 2022-2023 schedule has arrived! Coming this fall, your family can experience the pleasure of SCCT’s five fabulous full-scale productions at their downtown Greenville, SC theatre.
The upcoming season has something for everyone to enjoy. With both classic and original themes woven into the stories, these productions are certain to exhilarate the mind and soul of all ages. Along with the addition of three new directors to the MainStage team, SCCT will be introducing “Pay What You Can” for these productions! Tickets for the South Carolina Children’s Theatre 2022-23 season go on sale Wednesday, May 25th, 2022. Specific dates and times for each production will be announced soon.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!
Directed by: Connor Vetter
Dates: September 23, 2022- October 2, 2022
Based on the beloved “Pigeon” picture books, this exciting musical will have your children (and you) dancing in the seats!
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella
Directed by: Matt Giles
Dates: November 18, 2022- December 11, 2022
A Broadway adaptation with a fresh look, this production enhances the classic Cinderella through comedy, surprises, and exceptional music!
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Directed by: Jay Briggs
Dates: January 27, 2023-February 5, 2023
The heartfelt story of a Rabbit who becomes lost, and the journey that follows. This production explores the classic themes of love, loss, and courage to try again.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show
Directed by: Mia Phillips
Dates: March 2, 2023- March 12, 2023
This critically acclaimed production showcases a unique adaptation of several books by author Eric Carle through the use of 75 delightful puppets!
Once On This Island
Directed by: Ahsha Daniels
Dates: May 5, 2023 – May 21, 2023
The story of a young girl and her exploration of love in a prejudiced world, this production is an adaption of The Little Mermaid, with a Caribbean vibe!
“Pay What You Can” Program
SCCT will introduce “Pay What You Can” this coming season. The program will be available for MainStage productions throughout the 2022-2023 season. Along with increasing attendance numbers, this program will increase accessibility and interest in the theatre’s high-quality productions. SCCT wants to eliminate the financial barrier ticket prices may cause, opening the theatre doors to all!

Artistic Director Matt Giles believes this season to be entertaining and stimulating for young audience members and their families. The upcoming season was carefully curated to inspire and educate its audience through the many themes explored.
Tickets are $25 for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Once on This Island.
Tickets are $20 for the three other productions.
