Babies: Baby Swings, Shady Spots, and Crawl-Friendly Turf
Let’s start with the littlest visitors, because Cleveland Park actually thought of them. There are areas for babies: baby swings, shady spots for blankets and tummy time, crawling-friendly turf, and small structures to prop up against.

Toddlers: Small Climbers, Bridges, and Shady Play Caves
Toddlers get their own territory, too. The redesign includes play equipment made for children ages 2 to 5. There are fun small climbing and sliding structures, bridges, swings, and areas underneath the play structures that feel like shady play caves.

Big Kids: A Huge Tower, Nets, and Really Tall Slides
For older kids, there are the swings, the huge tower with nets and climbing belts, and really tall slides. The city says the tower stands 27 feet tall with slides for ages 5 to 12, including one of the largest slides in the city.

Tip: Don’t skip the space underneath the big tower. The nets, ropes, and stepping discs down low give kids a whole extra challenge before they ever reach a slide.
Teens and Adults: The Ninja Course
And, finally, this park truly has areas that are fun and challenging for teens and adults: the ninja obstacle courses, rope climbing, balance beams, etc.
We heard an old couple on a bench exclaim, “It looks like some of the parents are having more fun than the kids.” We were challenging each other to complete different parts of the course, so they weren’t wrong!

Shade and Seating for Parents
There’s lots of good shade for parents and babies. The playground has 10 swings with built-in shade, and the City of Greenville added two new picnic shelters on fresh concrete pads, so you have somewhere to land when you need a snack. Plenty of benches around, some in the shade, let you sit and observe while the kids play.
Zoo-Themed Extras and the Swamp Rabbit Trail
Because the playground sits beside the Greenville Zoo, the renovation added animal-themed touches. There’s a “seek and find” adventure featuring 13 zoo animals, educational panels highlighting 10 species, and animal-themed play features for younger children.

The Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail also runs along this part of the park. FOX Carolina reports that this section was widened from 12 feet to 16 feet, with features added to slow speeds near the play areas. Next to the reconstructed trail is a new water fountain for refilling water bottles and native plant landscaping.
