About Family Summer Camp at Cabela’s
This free event was previously held exclusively at Bass Pro Shops, but now that the Cabela’s is owned by Bass Pro Shop it is also being held at these locations. I was terribly disappointed last year when I saw the promotion for these events and they weren’t closer.
The Family Summer Camp events are being held every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from June 22, 2019 – July 21, 2019. Workshops will take place at 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays, and 1 pm and 2 pm on Sundays. These workshops include hands-on activities of fishing, archery practice, target practice, workshops and crafts.
Events at Family Summer Camp
Below is Melanie’s review of her experience in 2018. Events may be different in 2019.
I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that the archery practice set up they had is going to be on my Christmas wish list (and I don’t even own a bow).
An inflatable target with air that blows balls up and suspends them mid-air is waiting to be hit with arrows that are tipped with foam disks. I had to “help” my two year old, and had to try and recall all those middle school archery lessons.
Next to the archery is another inflatable target for B.B. guns. They have an event helper and provide safety glasses, so that no one “puts an eye out.”

Week Four – Shooting and Archery & Camping and Hiking
Week Five – Shooting and Archery & Backyard Adventure
The classes are approximately 20 minutes and include a worksheet that the children will use to follow along during the class. At the end of the class, they will be presented with a free pin to add to a free lanyard they’ll also receive.
Once all 5 workshops are completed, children will receive a finisher pin.
