Are you in need of some Group Therapy? Greenville has an indoor playground for adults that will bring out your inner child for a little fun. Group Therapy Pub & Playground is exactly what Greenville has been hoping for and more!

Group Therapy Pub and Playground in Greenville, SC

Sometimes you just need some space to chill out, play some games, and belt out some karaoke, or if you’re like me, just cheer on the brave souls who do. All of that and more is at the new Group Therapy Pub & Playground at Camperdown Plaza in downtown Greenville.

While the place is geared for grown-ups, they welcome families and kids during the day before 8 pm. Your kids will certainly love the creative indoor miniature golf course, curling, and ping pong. And Group Therapy is ideal for date night as well. Group Therapy is basically like The Children’s Museum of the Upstate but for grownups. It’s an adult playground right here in Greenville, SC.

Group Therapy Games

There’s an entire 18-hole mini golf course themed after movies like Jaws, Ghostbusters, E.T, and Jurassic Park. I loved this! It was so fun and creative and pretty much indestructible as you can ride the bike on the E.T. hole or pretend you’re the next victim of a T-Rex or Great White Shark. So fun!

If axe-throwing is more your speed, there are several bays to get out your aggression by chucking an axe at a wooden board. I had a blast trying this out even though I couldn’t even get the axes to stick on the board. They are also the only axe throwing venue downtown, and they have a newly installed projection software that allows you to play different games rather than just throwing it at a target. It felt pretty good to throw sharp things though. You’ll get a safety lesson beforehand and you need to wear closed-toed shoes to participate in this activity.

If neither of those activities float your boat, you can play curling, ping pong, Jenga, cornhole, arcade beer pong, or even giant beer pong on their patio on good weather days. There’s a lot to do at Group Therapy. They also have karaoke every Friday night, and other special events, which will be announced on their social media pages, website, and through their email newsletter.

Group Therapy Bar & Food

The bar at Group Therapy serves up beer, seltzers, and cider on tap. They also has a long cocktail menu with drinks that are recognizable classics, and even spins on originals if you are looking to change things up a bit. If the menu is too overwhelming for you, don’t worry because you can choose the “Trustfall” drink where you pick two adjectives from a list they give you and let the bartender make you something. I chose fruity and refreshing (with a request for minimal alcohol because I’m not in my 20s any longer) and the bartender nailed it in a pretty pink and refreshing drink.

If you love beer, they also have a beer wall with over 30 self-serve beers on tap.

If you have a larger group, you can get big group drinks like “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat.” Good luck.

The food we tried was delicious. We tested out the battered chicken poppers and loaded totchos! Like nachos, but tater tots. Yum! They have a full food menu of dishes like bbq quesadillas, flatbread pizzas, and spinach and artichoke dip to die for. Even if you are not playing any games, they have an area just to eat and drink and you don’t need to have a reservation!

Parties

As you may expect, Group Therapy offers options for parties of any kind: birthday parties for kids and adults, corporate events, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and anything else you want to celebrate. You can email them via their website to get an exact quote for whatever you envision for your awesome party there.

Overall Review

Group Therapy Pub & Playground is a lot of fun. It’s so easy to get into the wacky atmosphere, which allows you to just play and have a good time and take hilarious photos. The staff at Group Therapy were all so kind and helpful and seemed like they really enjoyed being there. I think anyone of any age will really enjoy the place and that it’s a great addition to downtown Greenville.
