Looking for toddler or kid open gymnastics play? Acrosmith Gymnastics Family Fun Gym time is when kids get to play on all the equipment for an hour! Plus, Acrosmith offers birthday parties, classes, and even a monthly parent’s night out.

A great activity for little kids any time of year, but especially when it’s brutally hot, unbearably cold, or rainy, is Family Fun Gym Time at Acrosmith Gymnastics located just off West Georgia Road near I-385 in Simpsonville.  It’s just $8 for one full hour’s worth of kid-friendly free time at the gym ($10 at the door).

Family Fun Gym at Acrosmith Gymnastics

Pre-Registration for Family Fun Gym

Acrosmith has instituted a pre-registration system for their family gym time so you must sign up beforehand online. They have made it super simple and easy. Go to the Acrosmith Family Fun Gym page on their website and click “register here”. You’ll be asked to sign up your child and you pay online.

When you get to the gym, you’ll be signed in by a staff member, which takes seconds. It’s so easy! I’ve been visiting Acrosmith Gymnastics for years and this is by far the fastest method they have instituted.

What Happens at Family Fun Gym

Once you arrive at Acrosmith for Family Fun Gym, kids take off their shoes and get to do pretty much whatever they want at the gym.

My one daughter loves the bars and the trampolines. My other daughter really enjoys the beam and foam pit. There is something for every interest and kids will undoubtedly find something they enjoy. The space is large, so there are a lot of areas to explore within the hour.

Acrosmith has an area designed just for the smaller kids with a rope swing, small bars, and beams, but the kids can go whatever they like.

Parents need to be within arms reach of their kids though for their own safety. Acrosmith limits the number of kids but you can imagine that kids will want to fly off a beam or bar because they think they are invincible – and they aren’t. So parents need to carefully watch their children.

They can run around on the bouncy floor, try walking across the higher beams, jump on the tumble track trampoline, or bounce into the foam pits. There are no classes or structured play – just a perfect time to let your tot run around and get out energy somewhere other than your own house.

The Benefits of Family Gym Time at Acrosmith are Plentiful

  • Beat the heat, cold, and rain.  Acrosmith is a full-size, competitive team training gym.  You will see bars, vaults, beams, trampolines, and more when you enter the fully air-conditioned/heated building.
  • Gross Motor Skills: Your child will be running, jumping, climbing, rolling, skipping, hopping, and doing much more for the full hour that they are engaged during Family Gym Time.
  • Inexpensive Fun: There is no commitment for Family Gym Time at Acrosmith.  Come and go whenever you want during the scheduled time.

The atmosphere is laid back and there are other parents just hanging out following their kids around. It’s a great way for the kids to get out energy and try something new!

More Classes at Acrosmith

Acrosmith offers a variety of classes for boys and girls 3 years and up. Their classes are recreational or competitive, so you can tailor to what your child wants to achieve.

Acro Tots (ages 3 – 4): Your child will explore the equipment while having fun! Each class lasts 50 minutes.

Acro Littles (ages 5-6): It doesn’t matter if your child has experience or not—this is where they’ll learn some of the basics of gymnastics. Classes are one hour.

Beginner 1 & 2 (ages 7+): Your child will start in Beginner 1 if he/she has never had any experience with gymnastics. In order to be placed in Beginner 2, your child needs at least one year of gymnastics classes under his/her belt. These classes will teach your child gymnastics skills based on their age and skill level. Classes are 60 minutes each.

Intermediate (7+ years old): Your child must have at least one year of gymnastics experience as well as mastered various gymnastics skills independently (i.e., vault, bars, beam, etc.). Classes are 60 minutes each.

Advanced: This builds on the Intermediate class. Your child not only needs to be able to master some of the skills independently but also show progression. Classes are 90 minutes each.

Ninjas (4-6 or 6+ years old): These are high-energy classes where your child will develop coordination, strength, and agility as they develop tumbling, trampoline, vault, and bar skills. These classes are not only a great outlet for high-energy kids, but a great foundation for any sport. Classes are one hour.

Tumbling (6+ years old): Beginner and advanced tumbling classes are available for students who desire to focus only on the floor exercises. These classes are ideal for cheerleaders to improve their tumbling skills. Your child must be 6 years old by June 1st. Classes are 60 minutes.

Private lessons and classes customized to fit your child’s needs are also available!

Birthday Parties at Acrosmith

In addition to all the fun classes and Family Fun Gym, Acrosmith also offers birthday parties! There are three birthday party options, each offering 2 hours of open gym time (1.5 hours of open gym time and 30 minutes in the lobby).

Packages start at $250 for 15 participants, and prices increase depending on if you want a private party or overlapping with another group’s party. The fee for additional kids is $10 per child, and they will allow you to bring in decorations and food for the party. You can email birthday@acrosmith.com to request a birthday party booking!

Parent’s Night Out

Acrosmith is offering Parent’s Night Out once per month, where you can drop your kids off from 6 pm to 9 pm while you go and enjoy a nice meal or a quiet walk through Target (it’s what I would do). You do not have to be enrolled at Acrosmith to attend, it is open to the public. Plus, it includes a pizza dinner!

Parent’s Night Out is $25 per 1st child, with discounted pricing for additional children. Find the current schedule on the Acrosmith website.
