The Children’s Museum of the Upstate is the 7th largest children’s museum in the country, and the first for indoor fun! With three floors and 30 unique exhibits reflecting the areas of arts, science, health, transportation, environment and more, TCMU-Greenville is the perfect destination for learning and play! With fresh, exciting programs including Food Lab and TCMU Tots, TCMU-Greenville caters to all children ages 0-12.

TCMU-Spartanburg, located in the heart of the community’s historic downtown, houses 6,000 square feet of exhibit and learning space designed to support children ages 0-6, with a focus on early childhood development and Kindergarten readiness.

As a non-profit, TCMU strives to fulfill its educational mission of developing young minds into compassionate problem solvers through purposeful, intentional and accessible play-based learning opportunities. TCMU is also a popular destination for field trips and birthday parties. And The TCMU Store is the Upstate’s most unique toy store, with every purchase supporting TCMU’s important mission.

Both TCMU-Greenville and TCMU-Spartanburg are open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.tcmupstate.org.

Roper Mountain is the place to bring your families for a hands-on and engaging experience whether it’s during the school year for field trips or during the summer for Summer Adventure and Summer Camps. The beautiful 62-acre campus contains an array of state-of-the-art educational facilities including a Planetarium and Observatory, Marine and Ecology labs, a Rainforest, a Living History Farm, Dinosaur Adventure  trail and a new Environmental Science and Sustainability Center.

Families can attend numerous events throughout the year including Friday Starry Nights, Afternoon Explorations, Summer Adventure, Laser Days of Summer, Summer Exploration Camps, and seasonal holiday laser shows. Regardless of age, you’ll surely find a plethora of engaging activities and fun for everyone to enjoy.
