This waterfall in Pisgah National Forest (Western North Carolina/ Blue Ridge Parkway area) is a natural water slide that has become a day-trip destination for families all over the Carolinas. The slow sloping waterfall is 60 feet, and the pool at the bottom is 8-10 feet deep. Lifeguards are on duty seven days a week during peak times in the summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day, 9 am – 6 pm), and restrooms are available at this time. There is no cost to watch people slide.

Swimmers should wear old clothes, including shorts and closed toed shoes. Due to the depth at the bottom, you’ll want to bring life vests for anyone in your group who can’t swim.
