The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center
So we all know weather in the Upstate can be unpredictable. With cold winters, rainy springs and hot sunny summers I was pleasantly surprised to discover an amazing place to bring the kids swimming no matter what the weather. Not only is there an indoor heated pool it is equipped with a playground structure with slides, water guns, and water pouring down in all directions for the kids to splash around in. The Kroc Center near downtown Greenvillle is a best kept secret that I feel all moms with little ones need to know about!
The Aquatics Center at the Kroc Center
The Aquatics Center at The Kroc Center is not only a great indoor play place for kids, its perfect for kids of all ages! If you have a baby that isn’t walking yet they can enjoy the water too. With its beach style entry including a rubber floor, the pool area is perfect for crawlers! And, here’s the best part, you get to take the day off from wrangling kiddos for sunscreen!
At its deepest point the water is only 4 feet deep. Behind the play structure there’s a place where buckets dump water down on the kids below. If you have children over 48″ tall they will enjoy the big slide that actually goes outside the building. Heck it’s even a blast for the parents! Did I mention they have a rock climbing wall? Plus a lap pool, hot tub and benches to place your towel on. Readers have mentioned that the pool can be closed during inclement weather. So if storms are threatening, you might want to call ahead.
The gym at the Kroc Center
The Kroc Center offers more than a cool indoor pool! It is a full gym with childcare available and lots of activities for the entire family. A family monthly membership is only $66 a month that includes childcare for 6 weeks – 8 years. Or if you want to just go and enjoy the facilities and pool you can purchase a day pass for $10 and children under the age of 4 are free with a paid adult. If you are not a member there is a fee for using the child care.

Have you ever taken your kids to the Kroc Center to play indoors?
Can’t wait to bring my grandkids to the pool area I no they will have a blast ❤
If you are looking for a fun water park, I would recommend anything other than Kroc Center. My daughter, who is just shy of 48″ (I mean barely) was told she couldn’t slide after one lifeguard allowed her her to do so for over 30 minutes. She was crushed and didn’t have any fun afterwards. I left there with my eyes burning of bleach and I didn’t even get under water. There were colorful buckets that supposedly dumped water, but the pump was broken, so no bells and whistles, really underwhelming and boring venue, not worth it. The staff are… Read more »
I’m sorry that you had a negative experience at the Kroc Center. We have heard a lot of positive feedback so it may have just not been the best day to visit. We recommend contacting them with your concerns.
I’ve never been to the Kroc Center, so I have questions. Can you come just as a drop in? Do you need to pay ahead or pay at the door or make an appointment?
I would LOVE to bring my grandchildren here for the summer. IF we spend the day here, are there meal options, refreshments?
I would like to know if I can have a kids bday party and if so how do I go about doing it
