Receiving gifts isn’t a huge deal for me but it’s certainly nice to receive something special on Mother’s Day. Let’s admit it, being a mother is darn hard. It’s rewarding to have those sticky hands wrapped around your legs and toothy smiles and kisses, but a sweet gift is always a nice gesture.

One of the best Mother’s Day gifts I had ever received were two rose bushes from my two daughters. I planted them and now every year they remind me of that beautiful gift with their gorgeous roses. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Here’s a list of local nurseries to find gifts like that.

Maria said she wanted “A day with my teens, who will not argue and will be agreeable the entire time, hiking at Whitewater Falls, stopping by Silver Run Falls for wading or swimming, followed by an early dinner at Whiteside Brewing in Cashiers.”
Rebecca said, “Every year I book a spa weekend in Wrightsville, NC with my cousin. We basically relax, eat every meal out (key is no clean up), and do a full spa day. It’s my favorite gift out of the year.”
Rachael said, “A day that my kids don’t fight or call ‘mom’ 1,000 times. I’d also prefer not to cook but also not go out. For a gift, 1 year of housecleaning but if we are talking realistically even 1 or 2 whole house cleans would be great – by a professional.”
Kristina said “Something active – ziplining with my kids at Upstate Zipline, paddleboarding with Eclectic Sun at Lake Jocassee or taking a boat tour, doing a long day trip/weekend trip to Pigeon Forge and going to Outdoor Gravity Park, spending a day hiking without complaints (I’d choose Mt. LeConte or anywhere in Cashiers and eat at Whiteside Brewing, also). I’d want to do something with my kids, not without them.”
Amanda said “I’m simple, I would love a day to sleep in undisturbed (here’s your list of parks for Dad to take them to), and for my kids to not fight for one whole day. But I fear I’m asking for a miracle 
As far as a purchased gift, I would LOVE a head spa experience, or a new plant.”
Nakeshia said “Spa day at Blue Stone Spa in Easley or a hotel for a weekend to read all the books.”
Sarah said ” A spa day at Grove Park Inn or Biltmore , gift cards to Amazon or Chick-fil-A, a spoiled at-home day where I can sit on the couch & tell everyone else what to clean for me, some kind of craft with all my kids’ handprints on it.”
Erin said ” I love plants that can go in the ground (so give me a tree, or shrub, or native plant), not one that is going to die in a vase. Also, LOVE any creation my kids actually put effort into!”
